PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Kahng (ranked 1473 p4p, 2022 weight class) and Jisoo Oh (ranked 194 p4p, 271 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Carl Kahng!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jisoo Oh!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oh dives in for a single leg takedown but Kahng sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kahng throws a nice looking combination but Oh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Oh shoots in looking for a takedown but Kahng manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kahng displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Oh.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Oh takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Oh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kahng manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Oh stays in close to Kahng's body and controls the position.
It looks like Oh might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Oh's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kahng wants to stand but Oh is controlling the position.

Kahng swings for the body but Oh moves out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kahng tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Oh was well out of range. Poor timing from Kahng.
Oh changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kahng lands a jab to Oh's midsection.

Kahng bucks up and tries to throw Oh off but instead Oh has got his back!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
