Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilbervan Soares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Salyn Sarethi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarethi misses with a wild body shot.
A big left from Soares misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Soares.
Sarethi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sarethi throws out a loose jab but Soares uses good head movement to avoid it.

Soares has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sarethi lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Sarethi lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A hook to the body from Soares.
Soares goes for a takedown attempt but Sarethi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've been hearing reports that Soares has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Sarethi throws a series of punches but Soares moves out of range.
Soares takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sarethi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Soares throws a lazy uppercut
and Soares takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Soares will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
It seemed like Sarethi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gilbervan Soares. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soares tries to clinch but Sarethi is having none of it.

Sarethi sends Soares crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Sarethi is motioning to the referee to let Soares up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Soares is rocked!
Soares keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sarethi.
An attempted straight right counter from Soares misses the target.
Oh Soares is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Soares shoots in and bounces Sarethi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Sarethi is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Soares presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Soares seems to have got his legs back now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sarethi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sarethi tries to sprawl but Soares drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sarethi looks like he's trying to stand up.
Soares is looking to take a break and control but Sarethi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Soares uses his free foot to push down on Sarethi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sarethi.
Soares breaks from Sarethi's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soares looking to control but Sarethi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sarethi is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Soares working the ground and pound effectively.

It looks like Salyn Sarethi has been cut.
Sarethi wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Soares can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sarethi is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soares looking to finish Sarethi with some ground and pound. This is bad for Sarethi!
The referee warns Sarethi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sarethi is trying to stand.
Soares lands a couple of good shots and Sarethi has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Sarethi is rocked!
Soares is loading up with his shots from the back and Sarethi is in big trouble! Sarethi taps out to strikes and the fight is over!
