PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 1032 p4p, 460 weight class) and Billy Crawley (ranked 56 p4p, 29 weight class). Short's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Crawley is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jewelry - One More Time. Billy Crawley acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Crawley!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crawley slaps away a takedown attempt from Short, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Crawley as Short shoots in.

Crawley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Short can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Short has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Short drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Short jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Short looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Crawley!

Short is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Crawley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerry Short will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerry Short.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Short, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
