Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Cango (ranked 1640 p4p, 1975 weight class) and Uwot Meight (ranked 219 p4p, 268 weight class). Cango comes into the arena with Into Action by Tim Armstrong blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Cango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uwot Meight!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meight looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Meight has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cango.
Cango scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Cango connects with a leg kick.
Cango misses with a body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Meight! But no joy.
Good work by Meight as he checks the leg kick.
Cango throws a quick inside leg kick.
Cango throws the left hand but Meight avoids the punch easily.
Cango throws a looping overhand right but Meight ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Cango lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meight doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cango throws a poor cross that misses
and Meight counters with a thumping low kick.
Meight tries to bum rush Cango with a series of wild strikes but Cango uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cango looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cango moves out of range as Meight strikes.
Cango rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Meight counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cango throws a leg kick
and Meight counters with an inside leg kick.
Cango stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cango throws a jab but it's blocked by Meight.
Cango avoids the body shot from Meight.
Meight lands with an overhand left.
Cango blocks the body kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Cango.
Cango rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Meight counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cango! Meight lets Cango back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Cango is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cango throws the kick towards the body but Meight avoids it.
Oh Cango is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cango dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Meight. That did some damage!
Cango seems to have got his legs back now.
Cango tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cango tries to land a leg kick but Meight saw it coming and moves away.
Meight looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Cango misses with an uppercut

and Meight counters with a nice right hand that sends Cango toppling to the canvas! Cango scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Meight finish him?!

A head kick by Meight misses
and Cango counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cango's corner calls for a 1-2. Cango obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cango darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Meight fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cango attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cango. Meight does a little dance to reset his feet.
Meight looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Cango looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Cango feints and then cracks Meight's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Meight down.
Cango connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Meight's hands.
Meight blocks the body kick.
Cango is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meight.
Cango misses with a right hand
and Meight counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jack Cango seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Meight takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Meight throws a big shot that misses.
Cango ducks under a wild hook from Meight.
Cango with a jab.
Meight swinging wildly here.
Jab, jab by Cango - just one landing.
Cango feints and then cracks Meight's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Meight down.
Cango tried to score with a low kick but Meight checks it.

Meight throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Decent striking displayed by Cango there.
Meight's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

and Meight counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Meight has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Meight there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Meight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cango throws out the jab.
Meight checks the leg kick nicely there.
Cango chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Meight misses with a low kick.
Meight swings for the body but Cango moves out of range.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Cango will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cango cracks a nice hook into Meight's ribs.
Cango lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Meight throws a hook to the side of Cango's head but Cango sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It looked like Cango wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Meight throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cango.
Cango throws a low kick but it's checked well by Meight.
Cango's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Meight connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cango scrambles back to his feet.
Cango works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Cango fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Meight looks to throw the jab but Cango is out of range.
Cango throws a leg kick
and Meight counters with a nice kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cango throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Cango counters with an outside leg kick.
Meight listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Cango is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meight.
Meight thuds his shin into the meat of Cango's side.

Cango fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meight manages to avoid it.
It seemed like Meight was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Meight walks forward, straight into a front kick from Cango.

and Cango connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Meight waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cango.
Meight takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Uwot Meight seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Cango clobbers Meight with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Cango swings for the body but Meight moves out of range.
Cango throws out a loose jab but Meight uses good head movement to avoid it.
Meight tries a head kick but it misses.
Meight throws a body shot but no joy.

enabling Meight to counter with a crisp jab.

and Meight counters with a crisp right that sends Cango to the canvas! Meight follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
