Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Billy Barns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barns throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stewart was covering up waiting for the punch and Barns finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Stewart really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stewart is pulling down on Barns's head. It's preventing any offense from Barns, at least for the moment.
Barns trying to control but Stewart is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barns throwing strikes from guard but Stewart blocks nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stewart can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stewart is controlling Barns's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stewart keeping full guard, as Barns tries to pass.
Stewart pulls Barns in close to his closed guard and prevents Barns from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stewart has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Triumph Over Fear. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Barns drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barns jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barns shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Barns on the wrong end of a nice jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stewart stuffs the takedown attempt from Barns. Barns gets slowly back to his feet.
Stewart lands a glancing blow to the side of Barns's head.
Stewart lands with a shot to the body.
Stewart defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barns.
Stewart throws a shot from downtown. Barns moves away and avoids it.
Barns shoots and misses
and Stewart counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Barns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good exchange - Stewart coming out on top.

Barns is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stewart wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Stewart lands a big uppercut and Barns crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Barns looks OK. Stewart waves Barns back to his feet!

Barns is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barns is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Stewart doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Barns crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Barns's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Stewart!
Danny Stewart tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
