Persvako comes to the cage accompanied by In Flames - Crawl through knives. Pekko Persvako has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pekko Persvako!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingo Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persvako misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Takeda.
Persvako throws a hook but Takeda avoids it easily.
Takeda fails with an attempt to clinch.
Persvako shoots for a double leg takedown but Takeda sprawls well. He's pushed Persvako's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Persvako misses the shot to the body.
Takeda tries to clinch up but Persvako circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Persvako has a takedown stuffed.
Persvako misses with a straight right.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Persvako shoots for a double leg takedown but Takeda sprawls well. He's pushed Persvako's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pekko Persvako. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Persvako loads up on a big right hand but Takeda slips the punch.
Takeda takes one to the chin there.
Takeda tries to clinch but Persvako moves out of range.
Takeda avoids the body shot from Persvako.

Persvako feints and as Takeda raises his hands in defense, Persvako changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Persvako advances to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Takeda is trying to control but can't.
Persvako thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Takeda's head.
Takeda trying to hold on to Persvako's head to control him but Persvako postures up.
Takeda wants to get back to his feet.
Persvako works his foot free and advances to mount.
Takeda working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Persvako in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Persvako looking to finish Takeda with some ground and pound. This is bad for Takeda!
Takeda is looking to get to half guard.
Persvako sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Takeda taking shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Persvako breaks from Takeda's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takeda in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Persvako looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Persvako jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Takeda manages to avoid the submission attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Persvako scores with a couple of short elbows.
Takeda takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Persvako works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Persvako is working to tighten is grip on Takeda's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Takeda has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Persvako is really squeezing tight and eventually Takeda passes out! Persvako breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Pekko Persvako!
