Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tnayrb Zruc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes throws a series of punches but Zruc avoids them all with ease.
Zruc avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zruc tries to clinch but Gomes moves out of range.

Zruc sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Gomes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zruc doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gomes.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Gomes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zruc looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zruc looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zruc!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gomes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Zruc is just content to waste time from the top position. Gomes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zruc stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gomes had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zruc is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gomes Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zruc's back instead.

Zruc is stalling here. Gomes is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Zruc seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gomes has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
