The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Broffy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Broffy throws a leg kick that misses.

It looks like Joell Ortiz has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Ortiz has a takedown stuffed.
Ortiz walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ortiz. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Broffy thuds his right hand into Ortiz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Broffy is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ortiz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Broffy drops Ortiz with a right and a left! Broffy comes rushing in but Ortiz regains his composure and manages to keep Broffy in guard.

Ortiz walks into a left hand.
Broffy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ortiz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Broffy lands a nice shot that snaps Ortiz's head back.

Broffy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ortiz wants to sweep here but Broffy controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Broffy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ortiz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Broffy's corner calls for a 1-2. Broffy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Broffy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Broffy lands with a nice combination. Ortiz backs away looking to recover.
Broffy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Broffy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Broffy.

Joell Ortiz's cut is getting worse.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Broffy connects with a nice cross there... Ortiz is looking wobbly and Broffy recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Ortiz to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Broffy jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
