Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gomez (ranked 1766 p4p, 1026 weight class) and Yka Sonni (ranked 269 p4p, 156 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yka Sonni!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonni bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gomez's head.
Gomez misses with a wild body shot.
Sonni avoids the head kick by Gomez.
Sonni scores with a hook to the body. Gomez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gomez misses with a left hand
and Sonni counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sonni lands with an uppercut that bounces Gomez off the cage and back into range.
Sonni ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gomez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Sonni counter with a right hand.
It looks like Carlos Gomez has been cut.
Sonni takes a swing at Gomez's ribcage but misses.
Gomez attempts a counter takedown but Sonni avoids it well and moves away.
Gomez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gomez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sonni moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sonni shapes to counter with a head kick.
Gomez connects with a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sonni has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sonni dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gomez. That did some damage!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A nice left hand lands by Sonni.
Gomez tries to work over Sonni's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Sonni scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Gomez is rocked!
Sonni lands a big right hand that drops Gomez! The killer instinct kicks in and Sonni finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Sonni!

After winning the bout, Yka Sonni thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
