The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Later is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rondon.
Rondon half committed to a counter leg kick.
Later throws a lazy right hand but Rondon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rondon tried to counter with a leg kick but Later avoided it.
Later throws a shot from downtown. Rondon moves away and avoids it.
Rondon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Later misses with a looping left.
Rondon feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Rondon scores with a takedown into Later's guard.
Later can't keep his opponent in guard - Rondon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rondon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rondon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Later stops Rondon from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Later tries to buck Rondon off so he can stand up but Rondon has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Later falls backwards, slamming Rondon to the mat but Rondon holds on tight! Later is forced to tap and this one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Salomon Rondon started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
