Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan DeAngelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Bartlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeAngelo feints and as Bartlett raises his hands in defense, DeAngelo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bartlett wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and DeAngelo is now in half guard.
DeAngelo wants to control but Bartlett is keeping him busy.

Bartlett is looking to improve his position.
DeAngelo works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bartlett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DeAngelo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

DeAngelo stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Bartlett throws a hook but DeAngelo avoids it easily.
Bartlett walks forward, straight into a front kick from DeAngelo.
DeAngelo doesn't manage to clinch there - Bartlett circles away.

and DeAngelo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bartlett!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

DeAngelo has hold of Bartlett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bartlett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bartlett seems to have recovered his senses.
DeAngelo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bartlett punching to the body and holding on for dear life.

Bartlett is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bartlett can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bartlett tries to hold on but DeAngelo postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evan DeAngelo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bartlett wants to clinch up but DeAngelo keeps it at a distance.
DeAngelo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
DeAngelo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bartlett's waist but Bartlett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing DeAngelo off to one side.

Bartlett misses with a series of wild punches.
Bartlett is looking to clinch but DeAngelo is avoiding it.

and DeAngelo counters with a three punch combo that has Bartlett backing up. Bartlett nods at DeAngelo to acknowledge the strikes.
DeAngelo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bartlett but Bartlett pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Evan DeAngelo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

DeAngelo moves into the clinch.
Bartlett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. DeAngelo smiles and moves away.
Bartlett is looking to clinch.
DeAngelo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bartlett swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan DeAngelo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeAngelo wants to clinch up but Bartlett keeps it at a distance.

Bartlett gets a clinch.
DeAngelo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bartlett is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
DeAngelo wants to break free but Bartlett has control.

Bartlett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control DeAngelo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bartlett looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

DeAngelo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
DeAngelo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

DeAngelo drives through and clinches with Bartlett against the cage.
DeAngelo gets underhooks to prevent Bartlett's takedown attempt.

Bartlett turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bartlett manages to end up in side control.

Bartlett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeAngelo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Evan DeAngelo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bartlett wanted to stand there but DeAngelo had control of the position.

Bartlett lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
DeAngelo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bartlett!
Scott Bartlett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
DeAngelo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well DeAngelo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
