Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erasmo Bezerra (ranked 2319 p4p, 2645 weight class) and Sergei Lagavulin (ranked 304 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erasmo Bezerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergei Lagavulin!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bezerra lands with an overhand left.
Bezerra lands a nice hook to Lagavulin's body. Lagavulin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Bezerra shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lagavulin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bezerra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bezerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Lagavulin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bezerra cracks Lagavulin with a solid left hand.
Bezerra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lagavulin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bezerra postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bezerra chips away with some ground and pound.
Bezerra slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lagavulin taking punishment in the form of punches.

Bezerra connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lagavulin some visible discomfort.
Bezerra controls the position.
Bezerra throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bezerra creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Lagavulin is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Bezerra tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Bezerra scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lagavulin to see if he's OK.

Lagavulin has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Bezerra advances to mount.
Bezerra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bezerra lands a nice shot to the head.

Bezerra breaks from Lagavulin's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lagavulin is squirming around, avoiding Bezerra's attempts to control the action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bezerra cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

BOOM! Bezerra connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Bezerra with the ground and pound from mount.
Bezerra landing strikes from the mount and Lagavulin is in trouble!

Bezerra looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Bezerra has control of Lagavulin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lagavulin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bezerra putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Lagavulin is working to get back to half guard.
Bezerra scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lagavulin?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bezerra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Bezerra pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Lagavulin is rocked!
Bezerra unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Lagavulin wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Bezerra celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erasmo Bezerra!
Our winner, Erasmo Bezerra, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
