Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yngve Laake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 28 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Austin!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laake darts in and clinches Austin up against the cage.

Laake has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Austin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Laake really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Austin.
Austin rolls, trying to escape but Laake keeps control of the position.
Laake trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Austin doesn't escape.
Laake controlling well, preventing Austin from escaping the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Laake controlling the positon.
Laake keeps control of the position as Austin tries to break free.
Austin breaks Laake's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Laake is looking to stand up but Austin isn't so interested in that idea.
Austin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Laake is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Austin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Austin passes Laake's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Laake is defending against the submission attempts here by Austin.

Austin is working for a kimura here but Laake manages to reverse the position and he's now in Austin's guard.
Laake wants to get up but he can't break Austin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Austin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Laake defends well.

Laake gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Laake's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Laake duly obliges.

It looks like Ron Austin has been cut.

Laake forces Austin back against the cage and clinches.
Austin wants a takedown but no success here.
Austin can't get the takedown.
Austin looks winded!

Laake has clasped his hands together around Austin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Laake decides to stand back up.
Laake lands a jab.
Laake looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Laake lands a nice looking body shot.
Austin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Laake to score with a decent uppercut.
Laake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Laake lands a big right hand that sends Austin crashing to the mat! Laake stays standing though and waves Austin back to his feet!

Austin is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Laake circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Austin tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Laake wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yngve Laake!
A relieved looking Yngve Laake thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
