Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Shima (ranked 1877 p4p, 1583 weight class) and Johny Handicks (ranked 257 p4p, 209 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shima might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Handicks!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Handicks lands with an uppercut that bounces Shima off the cage and back into range.
Handicks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Shima closes the distance and pushes Handicks back into the cage.
Handicks working hard to break the clinch.
Shima has Handicks pressed against the cage, preventing Handicks from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Shima lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Handicks's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Handicks's efforts to push away.

Shima drives through and clinches with Handicks against the cage.

Handicks jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Shima walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sloppy strikes from Handicks. Those never looked like landing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Handicks throws a looping overhand right but Shima ducks down to avoid it.
A little feinted left hand from Shima on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Handicks throws a series of punches but Shima avoids them all with ease.
Johny Handicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shima blocks a jab.

Shima clinches.
Shima lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Handicks looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Shima.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nice body punch from Shima.
Shima is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Shima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Handicks's efforts to push away.

Handicks is looking to break free of the clinch but Shima has double underhooks.
Shima misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Handicks blocks an uppercut.
Shima lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Come on Shima - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Shima manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shima prevents Handicks from breaking the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Shima throws a body punch but Handicks moves out of range.

The fight stays on the outside here - Shima looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Handicks goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Shima moves out of range as Handicks strikes.
Shima's jab looks to have found its range, popping Handicks under the eye.
Handicks thuds his right hand into Shima's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Shima takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shima lands with a light punch inside.
Shima is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Handicks can do to turn this around?

Shima will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Handicks up against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Handicks let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Shima tries to clinch but Handicks is having none of it.

Shima rushes Handicks and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Tetsuo Shima is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Shima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Handicks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shima.
Shima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Handicks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Handicks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shima manages to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tetsuo Shima showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shima, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
