PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Hedegaard (ranked 1121 p4p, 2672 weight class) and Vern Schullacks (ranked 159 p4p, 334 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vern Schullacks was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedegaard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Schullacks throws out the jab.

Schullacks closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hedegaard's guard.

Hedegaard has his foot on Schullacks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schullacks works his way back into a safe position though.

Hedegaard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schullacks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schullacks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Schullacks is nestled in close to Hedegaard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
