Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Ryan (ranked 516 p4p, 1162 weight class) and Sao Alela (ranked 73 p4p, 162 weight class). Alela is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cryin' Like a Bitch. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sao Alela!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Alela jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ryan misses with a body shot.
A slow jab from Alela misses its intended target.

Ryan walks into a left hand.
Alela misses with a two punch combination.

Alela closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ryan did well to prevent Alela getting side control.

Alela is trying to work for a kimura but Ryan is defending well.
Ryan is not content to let Alela control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ryan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alela is working away from the top position though.
Alela seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan is staying active underneath Alela, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ryan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ryan is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Deathsquad, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Alela is stalling here. Ryan is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Alela seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ryan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ryan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alela has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ryan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Alela throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alela closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ryan to the mat! Ryan manages to get full guard.
Alela has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Alela throws a jab when Ryan was well out of range.
Alela throws a head kick that misses.
Alela cracks Ryan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Ryan throws a hook to the side of Alela's head but Alela sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ryan. Alela does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alela tests Ryan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ryan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Alela throws a nice looking combination but Ryan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
