The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Clark tries to sprawl out of it but Emelianenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clark manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Emelianenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Clark which made him look bad.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clark as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Clark throws a left that rocks Emelianenko and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Clark dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Emelianenko regain composure!

Despite being in the dominant position, John Clark just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A nice combination there by Clark.
Emelianenko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clark pinned against the cage. Clark gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Clark connects with a stiff jab that staggers Emelianenko - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
