Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lieutenant Nog (ranked 1281 p4p, 1634 weight class) and Magnus Thorgard (ranked 183 p4p, 247 weight class). Nog comes to the cage accompanied by House of Pain - Put on Your Shit Kickers. Lieutenant Nog could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Magnus Thorgard's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lieutenant Nog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Magnus Thorgard!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nog catches Thorgard with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nog throws a leg kick but Thorgard sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thorgard has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Thorgard jabs Nog to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Thorgard throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Nog to counter with a crisp jab.
Nog throws out a loose jab but Thorgard uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nog with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Thorgard to score with a decent uppercut.
Nog staying out of range there.
Nog connects with a looping right hand.
Nog lands the left hand.
Thorgard rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nog counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nog moves away from the strike by Thorgard.
Nog shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Thorgard with the counter takedown but Nog avoids it easily.
Thorgard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Thorgard throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nog definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Thorgard connects with a single shot there.

A low kick from Nog is predictable there
and Thorgard counters with a takedown into side control.
Thorgard has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Nog in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Nog tries to lock up and control but Thorgard gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Thorgard cracks Nog with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thorgard misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

It looks like Lieutenant Nog has been cut.

Thorgard throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Nog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thorgard on the ground.

Thorgard loads up with a big shot that hurts Nog! He's pulled Thorgard in close but Thorgard has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Nog survive? More strikes from Thorgard and Nog is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
