Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reino Ruttu (ranked 2419 p4p, 2588 weight class) and Paddy Murphy (ranked 393 p4p, 413 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Murphy's choice of entrance music: Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A nice leg kick lands there from Ruttu.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Murphy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

It looked like Ruttu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Murphy drives through with a takedown into Ruttu's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murphy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Ruttu throws a low kick, looking for Murphy's leg but Murphy calmly moves out of range.
Murphy shoots in looking for a takedown but Ruttu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Murphy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Reino Ruttu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paddy Murphy.

and Murphy counters with a low kick, right behind Ruttu 's knee.
Murphy lands with a kick to the ribs.
Murphy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Ruttu closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Murphy! Ruttu dives in looking to finish! Murphy is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
