Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Sieste (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Martin Sieste!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sieste as he jumps to the side.
Lock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sieste swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lock tries to clinch there but Sieste circles away.
Sieste wants to clinch.
Lock throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sieste throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sieste is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sieste feints and as Lock raises his hands in defense, Sieste changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lock will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lock wants to stand but Sieste is controlling the position.
Sieste trying to move into half guard but instead Lock has managed to sweep!

Lock stands up from Sieste's guard - Lock perhaps looking for a knockout.
A head kick misses from Sieste.
Sieste avoids a kick to the body.
Lock jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lock throws a left and a right that both miss

and Sieste counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Sieste is looking for a kimura but Lock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sieste to get the leverage.

Lock looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Lock is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Sieste pulls his head out easily.
Lock is looking to control Sieste's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lock avoid being mounted?

Sieste wants to get back to his feet.
Sieste is keen to just control but Lock is a slippery customer.
Sieste is thwarting Lock's attempts to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sieste tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sieste swats away the attempt to clinch by Lock.

Sieste moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sieste is pressed up against the cage. Lock has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sieste down to the mat. Sieste avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lock moves in looking to clinch but Sieste pushes him off.
Sieste tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Lock counters with an outside leg kick.
Lock with a lazy takedown attempt

and Sieste counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lock!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Lock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lock can't escape the position.
Lock regains half guard.
Lock makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lock.
Sieste wants to pass the guard but Lock is keeping the position.
Sieste wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving.

Lock throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sieste wants to stand but Lock is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sieste stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lock swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lock controls Sieste momentarily but Sieste frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin Sieste dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Sieste rushes Lock and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sieste is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lock pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sieste has him pressed against the cage.
Lock wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Lock can't break the clinch.
Lock tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sieste smiles and moves away.
Lock gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sieste counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sieste throwing strikes from guard but Lock blocks nicely.

Lock is looking for a triangle but Sieste pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sieste throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Lock looking to control.
Sieste throws a strike but Lock rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sieste trying to strike off his back.

Lock drops back looking for a leg! Sieste is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sieste manages to kick Lock off! Lock jumps back into Sieste's guard.
Sieste throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Sieste wants to get back to his feet but Lock is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sieste is keeping the position for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sieste closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lock circles away.
Lock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sieste is fending him off so far but Lock persists. Nope, Sieste circles away and we're back to standing.

and Lock counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lock jumps guard and drags Sieste to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sieste is looking to stand up but Lock won't let him.
Lock keeping full guard, as Sieste tries to pass.

Lock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lock controls Sieste momentarily but Sieste frees himself.

Sieste trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Lock throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Lock looking for a guillotine here but Sieste defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sieste slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sieste loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sieste trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lock manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Sieste keeping moving, preventing Lock from controlling successfully.
Lock throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lock trying to control the position from guard on top but Sieste is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sieste really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lock drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lock jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrew Lock will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Sieste moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Sieste scores a takedown into full mount!
Lock regains half guard.
Sieste not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lock is trying to maintain the position but Sieste is very close to passing his half guard.
Lock is refusing to be controlled, as Sieste sits in half guard.
Lock is trying to control but can't.
Lock moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sieste controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lock trying to strike off his back.

Lock had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sieste is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lock Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sieste's back instead.
Martin Sieste has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lock tightening his grip on Sieste, looking for the choke.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sieste trying to control the hands but Lock won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lock is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sieste has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
I really don't envy Sieste right now.
Sieste covering up well and avoiding damage.
Sieste holding both Lock 's hands and preventing any damage.
Lock is hanging on to Sieste's back as he tries to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sieste trying to control but not successfully.
Will Lock go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Sieste fending off the submission attempt from Lock.
Lock wants to control but Sieste is keeping busy.

Lock looking for the choke but no joy.
Sieste has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Lock.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sieste tries to break free.
Lock thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Lock has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sieste has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Andrew Lock showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lock has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
