Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dick Ekelund!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Egyptian slips under a jab.
Egyptian drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ekelund sprawls and moves away.
Ekelund wants to clinch.
Ekelund fails with an attempt to clinch.
Egyptian lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ekelund at a distance.
Ekelund dodges the punch combination from Egyptian.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Egyptian throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ekelund has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Egyptian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ekelund does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Egyptian creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ekelund sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Egyptian looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Egyptian remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Egyptian tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Egyptian has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've been hearing good reports from Egyptian's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ekelund might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

I would just about give that final round to Dick Ekelund.
