The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but assis swivels and escapes.
Lesnar misses with a looping right.
Lesnar tries to clinch up but assis circles away and keeps his distance.
Lesnar throws a head kick that misses.
Lesnar goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

assis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lesnar's guard.
Lesnar can't keep his opponent in guard - assis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
assis wants to pass the guard but Lesnar is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lesnar swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and assis is now in Lesnar's guard. A big mistake from Lesnar there, giving up the dominant position!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Golias Lesnar.
