Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Abasi Njagi (ranked 514 p4p, 6106 weight class) and Ray White (ranked 38 p4p, 183 weight class). Njagi comes to the cage accompanied by The Game - Name Me King (Feat. Pusha T). White is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: HonestKey- Keep Fightin'. Ray White has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Abasi Njagi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray White!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Njagi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts White as he jumps to the side.
Njagi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from White.
Njagi changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
White with a body punch. A glancing blow.
White lands a nice shot that snaps Njagi's head back.
White cracks Njagi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

White feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
White must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

White wants to pass the guard but Njagi is keeping the position.

Njagi is refusing to be controlled, as White sits in half guard.

Njagi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but White pulls his head out easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ray White dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

White throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
White ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Njagi moves away.
Donk. White catches Njagi right on the button with a cross.

Njagi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches White napping and manages to drive through into side control!
White has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Njagi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but White is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Njagi wants to take a breather but White manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Njagi.

White is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Njagi is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Njagi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but White manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Njagi has White in his guard.


Njagi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

White stands and steps away. Njagi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
White lands with a right hand.
White looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
White throws a shot from downtown. Njagi moves away and avoids it.
White throws a jab but it's blocked by Njagi.
Njagi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around White's waist but White gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Njagi off to one side.

White waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Njagi.
White stuffs the takedown attempt from Njagi. Njagi gets slowly back to his feet.
White misses with a shot to the body

and Njagi counters with a nice double leg into side control. White won't be happy with that.
White tries to improve position but can't.
Njagi laying and praying for a moment but White takes advantage and regains half guard.

Njagi seems to be working for a kimura but White defends the submission attempt.

White is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Njagi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Njagi's back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A very excited looking Ray White rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
