Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 24676 p4p, 24616 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wala Sapi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 25 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Sapi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mibangon controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Sapi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Mibangon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mibangon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mibangon closes the distance and clinches up with Sapi, looking for a takedown. Mibangon pushes Sapi against the cage but Sapi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

so Mibangon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mibangon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sapi for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round but I would say that Minatay Mibangon will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mibangon shoots for a double leg takedown but Sapi sprawls well. He's pushed Mibangon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Sapi responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time.

Mibangon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sapi sprawls well initially but Mibangon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Still in half guard, Mibangon seems content to control.

Sapi is controlling Mibangon's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mibangon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sapi tries to avoid it but Mibangon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sapi to the ground. Sapi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mibangon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sapi wants to control but Mibangon is keeping busy.
Sapi has his hands clasped together around Mibangon's back. He's all about the action.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mibangon is taking a breather. Sapi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sapi tries to get to full guard but Mibangon has control of the leg.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sapi stuffs the takedown attempt from Mibangon. Mibangon gets slowly back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Minatay Mibangon dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Mibangon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sapi can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mibangon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sapi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Minatay Mibangon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

I think Mibangon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
