PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hinto Kangee (ranked 441 p4p, 1540 weight class) and Krypton Brussard (ranked 63 p4p, 209 weight class). Kangee comes to the cage accompanied by Kalush Orchestra - Stefania. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hinto Kangee!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Krypton Brussard!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kangee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brussard for as long as he can get away with.

Kangee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brussard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brussard felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kangee tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brussard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Brussard throws a fast counter high kick but Kangee manages to duck under it in time.

Kangee shoots in looking for a takedown but Brussard manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kangee's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

A nice side step and Brussard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kangee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
