Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gunt Jernit (ranked 3383 p4p, 5726 weight class) and Johnny Liew (ranked 276 p4p, 382 weight class). Gunt Jernit could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Johnny Liew's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gunt Jernit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Liew!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liew pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Liew tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Jernit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Liew throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jernit.
Johnny Liew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jernit throws a body punch but Liew moves out of range.
Liew tries to clinch up.
A counter left hand to the body from Jernit misses its target.
Liew fails with an attempt to clinch.
Liew bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Liew tries to counter by closing the distance.
Liew doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Liew tries to pull guard but Jernit won't allow it.

Still in the clinch, Liew scores with a nice short uppercut.
Liew wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jernit has him pressed against the cage.
Liew throws an elbow that misses.
Liew takes a shot to the head.
Jernit throws a punch but it's blocked by Liew.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Liew's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Liew prevents a body shot from Jernit.
Jernit throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jernit takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jernit keeps control of Liew as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Liew blocking some punches.
Jernit pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jernit punishes Liew's body with a nice straight punch.
Jernit throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Liew sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jernit throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jernit sets himself, and Liew steps forward looking for the clinch! Jernit avoids it this time.
Jernit lands with a shot to the body.
Jab from Jernit.
Jernit cracks Liew with a good jab.
Jernit scores with a jab to the body.
Jernit connects with a body shot that sends Liew's belly button to the back.
Liew misses with a hook
and Jernit counters with a left to the body.

Liew uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jernit.
Jernit takes a swing at Liew's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jernit drops Liew with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Liew looks back up at him and smiles so Jernit waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Liew is rocked!
Jernit lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Liew head around and knocks him out cold! Jernit hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gunt Jernit!
