Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Pellegrini (ranked 1665 p4p, 2129 weight class) and Anti Happy (ranked 144 p4p, 182 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anti Happy!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Pellegrini.
Happy shoots for a double leg takedown but Pellegrini sprawls well. He's pushed Happy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Happy backs away, Pellegrini returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Pellegrini feints a jab promting Happy to slip. Pellegrini then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Happy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Happy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Happy dives in and grabs Pellegrini's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pellegrini pushes down on Happy's head and hops out.
Pellegrini lands a nice leg kick that just misses Happy's sensitive parts.

Happy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Happy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Happy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Happy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vinnie Pellegrini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anti Happy.
Happy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Happy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Happy throws a lazy right hand but Pellegrini sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pellegrini throws a front kick aimed at Happy's knee but Happy avoids it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vinnie Pellegrini will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A head kick misses from Happy.
Pellegrini is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Pellegrini clobbers Happy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pellegrini throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Happy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Pellegrini throws a shot from downtown. Happy moves away and avoids it.

Happy just misses with a punch to the body.
Happy thows a leg kick but Pellegrini checks it
and Pellegrini makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Happy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Happy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pellegrini swivels and escapes.

Happy is breathing heavily.
Happy throws a shot from downtown. Pellegrini moves away and avoids it.

Happy throws a right hand that Pellegrini ducks under and follows up with a left that Pellegrini also avoids with ease.
Pellegrini moves into range and connects with a jab.
A low kick lands for Pellegrini.
Happy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pellegrini as he jumps to the side.

Pellegrini fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Happy.
Pellegrini is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Oooooh!!! Pellegrini has knocked Happy down with a huge combo! Pellegrini steps away and waves a wobbly Happy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
