The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Guinness.

Mesquita looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Guinness feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mesquitas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Guinness stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Guinness wants it to stay on the feet.

Guinness cracks Mesquita with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Guinness shoots for a double leg takedown but Mesquita sprawls well. He's pushed Guinness's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice takedown defense from Guinness. No joy for Mesquita on that attempt.
Guinness throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mesquita attempts a counter takedown but Guinness avoids it well and moves away.

Mesquita is stalling here. Guinness is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mesquita seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Guinness has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Mesquita is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Guinness's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Guinness seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Guinness with the ground and pound but Mesquita uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Mesquita bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Guinness's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mesquita is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Guinness is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Guinness has escaped and now he's on top!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Guinness throws a hook but Mesquita avoids it easily.

Guinness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mesquita is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Guinness rolls with it to try and escape but Mesquita cranks on the arm and Guinness is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
