Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Da Silva (ranked 5408 p4p, 2618 weight class) and Verney Lapierre (ranked 484 p4p, 276 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lapierre's choice of entrance music: Sugar. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Verney Lapierre!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lapierre throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Da Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Lapierre finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lapierre controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lapierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Da Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lapierre controls the pace.

Lapierre drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Lapierre as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Da Silva screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Lapierre! Nice submission victory there!

A relieved looking Verney Lapierre thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
