PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Punch Bag (ranked 6307 p4p, 4251 weight class) and Dwalin Broadaxe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bag might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eye of the tiger. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dwalin Broadaxe enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Punch Bag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwalin Broadaxe!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Broadaxe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bag manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Broadaxe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Broadaxe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Broadaxe distracts Bag with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Broadaxe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bag's head.
Bag avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bag is trying to control the position but Broadaxe postures up.
Broadaxe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bag looking for a sweep. Not yet Bag, not yet.
Broadaxe sitting in guard here, content to control.
Bag knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Broadaxe on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Broadaxe slips nicely into half guard.
Nice strikes from Broadaxe there.
Bag is trying to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Broadaxe seems content to control.

Broadaxe is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bag defends it well.
Broadaxe working over Bag with some ground and pound. Bag looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Broadaxe lands a nice short elbow.
Bag has hold of Broadaxe's hands but Broadaxe slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Broadaxe passes to side control.
Broadaxe controls the position from side control.
Broadaxe looks up at the clock and then as Bag takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Broadaxe smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The referee asks Broadaxe politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Broadaxe prefers to stall for the moment though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Broadaxe is working to tighten his grip on Bag's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bag has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Broadaxe is really squeezing tight and eventually Bag passes out! Broadaxe breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dwalin Broadaxe!
