Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connor McSwagger!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with McSwagger, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes McSwagger against the cage but McSwagger circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McSwagger throws out a counter right but Lewis avoids it with no problem.

Lewis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
McSwagger wants to get back to striking at distance but Lewis won't allow it.
Lewis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McSwagger after a bit of a struggle.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McSwagger misses with a wild combination.
Lewis takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Lewis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McSwagger looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown but McSwagger manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lewis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Lewis counters with a three punch combo that has McSwagger backing up. McSwagger nods at Lewis to acknowledge the strikes.
Lewis doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McSwagger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McSwagger is trying to push Lewis away but Lewis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lewis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McSwagger gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Lewis needs to keep his hands up - McSwagger had a free shot at his head there.
Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McSwagger counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lewis falls off balance throwing a combination
and McSwagger makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Connor McSwagger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McSwagger looks to land a left hand but Lewis moved out of range nicely.
McSwagger scores with a decent looking hook.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lewis throws a head kick but McSwagger moves out of range.
Lewis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McSwagger is fending him off so far but Lewis persists. Nope, McSwagger circles away and we're back to standing.
McSwagger is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lewis with a body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but McSwagger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.

McSwagger scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lewis in his tracks.

McSwagger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McSwagger wants it to stay on the feet.
A nice side step and McSwagger releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Lewis is trying hard to land a takedown here. McSwagger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

It seemed like McSwagger was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

As Lewis backs off McSwagger throws a huge counter combo but Lewis manages to avoid it all.

Connor McSwagger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Connor McSwagger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
