And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Voorhees!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voorhees throws a jab when Cleever was well out of range.
No joy there for Cleever, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cleever moves away from the strike by Voorhees.
Voorhees misses with a hook
and Cleever counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jason Voorhees seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cleever misses with a hook.
We've been told by Cleever's head coaches at Hare of the Dog Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cleever lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Voorhees swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Voorhees takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Cleever counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cleever.
Voorhees has had enough of the clinch but Cleever keeps him there for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cleever lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Voorhees looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cleever working some nice short punches in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Cleever counters with a crisp right hand that drops Voorhees! Cleever lets Voorhees back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Cleever rattles Voorhees with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Voorhees tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Cleever dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Voorhees stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Miet Cleever!
