Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Snorri Skarphedinsson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skarphedinsson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Skarphedinsson looks for the body kick but Kina saw that one coming.
Kina misses with a takedown attempt - Skarphedinsson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Skarphedinsson lands a nice shot to the body.
Skarphedinsson misses with a body kick.
Kina half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Skarphedinsson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kina counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Skarphedinsson avoids the head kick by Kina.

and Kina counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Skarphedinsson misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Skarphedinsson loads up on a big right hand but Kina slips the punch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kina closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kina lands in his opponent's guard.

Skarphedinsson can't keep his opponent in guard - Kina advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kina is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Skarphedinsson trying to control from the bottom.
Kina wants to pass the guard but Skarphedinsson is defending well.
Kina lands strikes from half guard.
Skarphedinsson is concentrating on defense, preventing Kina from advancing position.
Kina thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Skarphedinsson's head.

Skarphedinsson wants to get back to his feet.

Kina is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kina passes to side control.
Kina working the ground and pound.
We've been informed that Skarphedinsson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Kina misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Skarphedinsson parries the strikes from Kina easily there. Kina is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Skarphedinsson to escape.
Kina controls the position.

Kina is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Skarphedinsson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kina advances to full mount.
Kina definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kina lands with some strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kina controlling the position easily from mount.
Skarphedinsson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tai Kina dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kina moves into the clinch.
Kina wants to take the fight to the mat but Skarphedinsson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Skarphedinsson lands a left hand.
A hook to the body from Skarphedinsson.
Kina tries to break free but Skarphedinsson pushes him back against the cage.
Kina wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Skarphedinsson has him pressed against the cage.

Skarphedinsson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kina feints and as Skarphedinsson raises his hands in defense, Kina changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kina in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kina slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Skarphedinsson is trying to hold Kina in close to prevent damage but Kina has managed to pass into half guard.
Kina looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Kina slows the pace down in half guard.
Skarphedinsson is looking to improve his position.
Kina is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Skarphedinsson can do to turn this around?
Kina content to control rather than advance.
Kina is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Skarphedinsson reverses the position - he's now on top in Kina's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Skarphedinsson is posturing up here but Kina has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Skarphedinsson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Skarphedinsson has to tap! Slick submission there by Kina!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tai Kina!
After the fight, Tai Kina was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
