Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rimtas Kentas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sao Alela!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alela swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kentas attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Sao Alela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alela takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Alela shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alela lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kentas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kentas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Kentas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Kentas throws a nice looking combination but Alela bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kentas is looking for a kimura but Alela is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kentas to get the leverage.
Alela won't allow Kentas to pass to mount.

Alela told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
