PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tanjro Sam (ranked 4709 p4p, 4902 weight class) and Jack Hamadi (ranked 515 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sam tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Sam ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sam no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sam wants to sweep here but Hamadi controlling him for the moment.
Sam is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sam thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hamadi's head.

and Sam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hamadi looks to land a combination but Sam avoids it well.

Sam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hamadi's guard.
Sam sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hamadi's guard.

Hamadi kicks Sam off and gets back to his feet.
Hamadi tries to bum rush Sam with a series of wild strikes but Sam uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Hamadi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sam tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hamadi was well out of range. Poor timing from Sam.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sam tries to clinch there but Hamadi circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Tanjro Sam will probably get the nod.

Sam gets the takedown into side control.

Hamadi sneaks out the side door and pushes Sam away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Hamadi gets tackled into the cage by Sam. Sam maintains the clinch.
Sam tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hamadi just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sam's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sam bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sam wants to control but Hamadi is keeping him busy.

Sam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hamadi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sam decides to stand back up. Sam steps back and let's Hamadi get back to his feet.
Sam takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hamadi throws a right hand that Sam ducks under and follows up with a left that Sam also avoids with ease.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sam looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sam takes the fight into the clinch.
Hamadi prevents a body shot from Sam.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Sam changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hamadi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sam tries to close the distance and clinch but Hamadi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sam throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hamadi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sam is in Hamadi's guard.

Hamadi is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sam presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Sam manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hamadi on his heels. He'll look to pass Hamadi's guard now, I'm sure.

Sam is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hamadi looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sam gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hamadi is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sam lets go of the hold and Hamadi can pop his arm back in it's socket.
