And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Lee!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee misses with a double jab.
We've been informed that Lee has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Lee lands a head kick. Beardsley smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Peter Beardsley has been cut.
Lee misses with a two punch combination.

and Beardsley counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Alexander Lee has been cut.
Beardsley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lee.

Lee's corner calls for a 1-2. Lee obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A left lands for Beardsley.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lee misses with a hook. Beardsley ducked under it nicely.
Beardsley was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Beardsley slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
A head kick from Lee lands but Beardsley takes it in his stride.

Beardsley lands with a straight right. Lee didn't see that one coming.
Beardsley cracks a nice hook into Lee's ribs.

Lee throws a head kick but Beardsley moves out of range.
Beardsley moves away from the strike by Lee.

Beardsley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lee's head backwards.

That has opened up Alexander Lee's cut even more.
Beardsley keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
It looked like Beardsley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Lee walks into a left hand.
Beardsley misses the shot to the body.
Lee throws a lazy head kick
and Beardsley counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice defenses there by Lee.
Lee feints the counter takedown.
Beardsley blocks a head kick by Lee.
Beardsley takes one on the chin but seems OK.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Beardsley connects with a nice looking jab.
Lee throws a head kick but Beardsley moves out of range.
Lee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Beardsley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Beardsley swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lee throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Beardsley blocks a head kick by Lee.
Beardsley throwing a counter right hand but Lee manages to avoid it.
Beardsley avoids the head kick by Lee.
Beardsley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lee manages to circle out of the way.
Beardsley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lee.
Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Beardsley moves into the clinch.
I was talking to Beardsley's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Beardsley scores with a hook to the body.

Beardsley jumps guard.
Beardsley pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beardsley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beardsley has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Lee should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Beardsley has tightened it up now! Lee should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Peter Beardsley started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
