PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Rojas (ranked 4323 p4p, 5531 weight class) and Ryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joaquin Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rojas somewhat.
Gracie loads up on a big right hand but Rojas slips the punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target.
Gracie throws a right hand that Rojas ducks under and follows up with a left that Rojas also avoids with ease.
Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rojas looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well.
Rojas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but Rojas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joaquin Rojas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rojas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie misses with a double jab.

Rojas forces Gracie back against the cage and clinches.

Gracie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gracie lands a body shot.
Rojas doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
A little jabbing left from Gracie on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

It looks like Joaquin Rojas has been cut.
Gracie connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Rojas tumbling to the canvas! Gracie pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Rojas was done - good stoppage!
