PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rojas (ranked 2752 p4p, 4471 weight class) and Barrio Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barrio Lopez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas dives in and grabs Lopez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lopez pushes down on Rojas's head and hops out.
Lopez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lopez throws a head kick that misses.
A combination from Lopez does no damage.
Lopez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rojas keeps the fight on the outside.
Lopez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rojas.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rojas is defended easily by Lopez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Rojas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rojas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lopez sprawls well initially but Rojas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lopez flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rojas passes to side control.
Rojas works to advance to full mount. Lopez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Rojas moves to the back position.

Lopez is trying to roll into a better position but Rojas has get a rear naked choke and Lopez is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
