Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kane Thoupos (ranked 139 p4p, 376 weight class) and Gord Ryan (ranked 16 p4p, 49 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thoupos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 151 Rum - JID. Gord Ryan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thoupos darts in trying to clinch
and Ryan counters with a nice uppercut.

enabling Ryan to counter with a crisp jab.
Thoupos fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ryan is out of range.
Ryan misses with a body shot.
Thoupos appears to be looking for a big counter.

Ryan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Thoupos lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ryan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thoupos will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

A slapping leg kick lands for Thoupos.

Thoupos struggles to land a body shot inside as Ryan controls his hands.
Thoupos throws a punch but it's blocked by Ryan.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Thoupos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thoupos thuds his right hand into Ryan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Thoupos misses with a body punch
and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ryan sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kane Thoupos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thoupos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thoupos bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ryan's head backwards.
Ryan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Thoupos looks to score with a jab to the body but Ryan is just out of range.
Ryan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Thoupos throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ryan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Ryan counters with a stiff right hand.
Ryan takes a swing at Thoupos's ribcage but misses.
Thoupos catches Ryan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryan drops Thoupos with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Thoupos looks back up at him and smiles so Ryan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Ryan counters with a big left hand that crumples Thoupos! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Kane Thoupos was interviewed post fight and said 'What really happened on that Thursday in August High School that led to Chris Woods death? Pftctctxtysfsrhhh the fuck is that! Fly in my mouth, I can’t see… gotta get out of this country motherfucker'.
