Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hirata Hitoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hitoshi moves in looking to clinch but Peterson pushes him off.
Hitoshi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Peterson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hitoshi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Hitoshi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A little jabbing left from Peterson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hitoshi fails with the takedown.
Peterson cracks Hitoshi with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hitoshi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hitoshi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Peterson drops Hitoshi with a beautiful combination! Hitoshi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Peterson is looking for the KO!

Hitoshi is rocked!
Peterson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Hitoshi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Hitoshi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Peterson connects with a crisp jab.
Peterson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
and Peterson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hitoshi! He's just covering up as Peterson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Peterson!
A less than humble Nick Peterson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
