Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Head!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Bailey. No joy for Head on that attempt.

Bailey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bailey lands in his opponent's guard.
Bailey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Head pushes Bailey off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Bailey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bailey is pressing down on Head's thigh, looking to free his foot. Head is holding on for now.
Head trying to control here.
Head is refusing to be controlled, as Bailey sits in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head wants to get back to full guard.
Bailey is trying to control the action in half guard but Head is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Head trying to hold on to Bailey's head to control him but Bailey postures up.
Bailey is looking to advance position but Head won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Head.
Head moves in looking to clinch but Bailey pushes him off.

and Head counters with a takedown into side control.
Bailey tries to improve position but can't.
Bailey is breathing heavily.

Head has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Bailey shoots in and bounces Head off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Head is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Head keeping moving, preventing Bailey from controlling successfully.
Head strikes from his own guard.
Head looking for a sweep. Not yet Head, not yet.
Bailey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Head swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bailey postures up.

Head scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Head is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bailey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bailey prevents Head from improving his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bailey is working for a kimura but Head is defending it quite comfortably.
Head won't allow Bailey to pass to mount.
Bailey is taking a breather. Head says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bailey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Bailey is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Head doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bailey.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bailey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailey stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Head to get to his feet.

Head keeping moving, preventing Bailey from controlling successfully.
Bailey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Head swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bailey trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Head manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bailey keeping busy on the bottom but Head has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Bailey will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Head clinches with his opponent.
Head manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Head stalling in the clinch but Bailey improves position.

Bailey manages to pull guard.

Bailey controls Head momentarily but Head frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bailey pushes Head off and gets back to his feet.
Bailey wants to clinch up but Head keeps it at a distance.

Head pushes Bailey off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Head counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bailey is looking for a triangle but Head pushes his legs off easily.
Head missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bailey keeping full guard, as Head tries to pass.
Head is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bailey uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Head gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bailey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bailey wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.
Bailey stands and throws Head's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Head is looking for a sweep.
Bailey is looking to take a break and control but Head is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bailey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Head to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bailey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Head looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bailey has hold of Head's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Head seems comfortable defending it but Bailey has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Head is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Head is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bailey couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bob Bailey!
