PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ivarsson Trippin (ranked 4462 p4p, 4372 weight class) and Vincent Van Elburg (ranked 0 p4p, 327 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trippin tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Van Elburg's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Van Elburg connects with a jab.
Trippin lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Trippin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Van Elburg tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Trippin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Trippin throws a low kick but Van Elburg avoids it.
Van Elburg looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Trippin looks to throw the jab but Van Elburg is out of range.
Van Elburg throws a lazy right hand but Trippin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Trippin jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Trippin connects with an inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Elburg throws a hook but Trippin blocks it.

A solid leg kick lands there for Trippin.
Trippin throws a leg kick but Van Elburg moved away.
Trippin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

and Van Elburg counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Trippin thinking.
Trippin looks to land a body kick but Van Elburg moved away.
It seemed like Van Elburg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Van Elburg throws a nice looking combination but Trippin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A solid leg kick lands there for Trippin.

Van Elburg throws out a loose jab but Trippin uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Trippin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Van Elburg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Van Elburg crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Trippin - the referee stops the clock and Van Elburg gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Trippin. Van Elburg manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Trippin throws a jab when Van Elburg was well out of range.
Trippin scores with a shot to the body.

Van Elburg feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Trippin sprawling to the canvas! Trippin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Van Elburg finish him?!

Trippin is rocked!
Van Elburg might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Trippin throws a leg kick but Van Elburg sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Oh Trippin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Trippin misses with a body shot.
Trippin swats away the attempt to clinch by Van Elburg.
Van Elburg dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Trippin is breathing heavily.
Trippin get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Trippin stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Van Elburg runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
