Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Hudak (ranked 2337 p4p, 3610 weight class) and Julian Diaz (ranked 200 p4p, 286 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamal Hudak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julian Diaz!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jamal Hudak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hudak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hudak controlling the position.
Diaz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hudak is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz is not content to let Hudak control the position.
Diaz trying to remain calm as Hudak controls from the top position.

Diaz is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hudak is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hudak misses with an uppercut.
Hudak looks to land a left hand but Diaz moved out of range nicely.
Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Hudak.

Hudak gets a double leg takedown into Diaz's guard.
Diaz is looking to stand up but Hudak isn't so interested in that idea.

Hudak trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.
Diaz is looking to stand back up but Hudak counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Diaz.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hudak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hudak lands strikes from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hudak lands a nice short elbow.
Diaz is trying to stand back up but Hudak is controlling him
Diaz regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hudak.
Diaz wants to stand but Hudak is controlling the position.
Diaz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hudak dives into side control.
Hudak trying to control the position but Diaz is working away.

Diaz is pushing Hudak's head away, looking to escape. Hudak manages to hold on to the position though.
Hudak scoring with punches and elbows.
Diaz tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Diaz trying to get back to his feet but Hudak is in full control for now.
Hudak punishes Diaz with strikes from the back mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Diaz is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Hudak is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Diaz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Diaz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hudak lands a slapping body shot.
Hudak staying out of range there.
Hudak lands a head shot.
Hudak throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot.
Diaz counters with a body kick.
Diaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Diaz throws a jab when Hudak was well out of range.
Diaz looks to land a left hand but Hudak moved out of range nicely.
Diaz sizes up Hudak with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A jab from Hudak misses.
A little jabbing left from Diaz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hudak takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Diaz blocks a jab.
Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hudak throws out the jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hudak shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Diaz is trying to defend but Hudak finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hudak prevents Diaz from standing back up.

Hudak throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hudak trying to control from half guard but Diaz is working away.

Hudak is looking for a kimura here.
Hudak wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hudak controlling the action here.
Hudak is trying to control the action in half guard but Diaz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Diaz is trying to stand up here but Hudak is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Julian Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Diaz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hudak getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Diaz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hudaks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hudak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?
Hudak paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Diaz misses with a body punch
and Hudak counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Julian Diaz has been cut.
Hudak throws a good cross that connects.
Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hudak.
A little jabbing left from Diaz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Hudak moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz connects with a single shot there.
Hudak is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hudak scores with a nice right hand.

Diaz is rocked!
Hudak closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Diaz! Hudak dives in looking to finish! Diaz is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jamal Hudak!
Jamal Hudak decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
