PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jaxon Williams (ranked 3721 p4p, 6232 weight class) and Ailin Trills (ranked 413 p4p, 494 weight class). Trills has chosen HonestKey- What My Life For as his entrance music. Ailin Trills will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jaxon Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ailin Trills!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams walks into a straight right hand from Trills.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Trills sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Williams is defended easily by Trills.
Trills lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Williams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Trills counters with a nice low kick that buckles Williams's knee momentarily.
Trills looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaxon Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Trills wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.
Williams half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Trills lands a nice leg kick that just misses Williams's sensitive parts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williams showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Trills looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Trills is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily.

Williams lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Trills quite badly. Trills pulls Williams in close trying to recover. Williams postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Trills on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Trills doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jaxon Williams!
Jaxon Williams decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
