PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Regan Soleil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhaegar Targaryen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Soleil might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Puritania. Rhaegar Targaryen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soleil throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Targaryen moves away from the strike by Soleil.
Soleil moves out of range of the strikes.
Targaryen lands with a right hand.
Soleil showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Targaryen.
Targaryen throws a hook but Soleil blocks it.
Soleil missing with a left hand there. Targaryen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Targaryen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Soleil.
Targaryen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Targaryen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Soleil throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Soleil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Targaryen but Targaryen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Soleil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Targaryen pinned against the cage. Targaryen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rhaegar Targaryen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Targaryen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Soleil tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Targaryen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Soleil clobbers Targaryen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Soleil shoots in for a takedown but Targaryen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Targaryen lands a left and a right that sends Soleil crashing to the canvas! Targaryen dives into mount looking to finish!

Targaryen wants to control the pace but Soleil is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, Rhaegar Targaryen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Soleil wants to clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Targaryen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Soleil throws a series of punches but Targaryen avoids them all with ease.

Targaryen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Soleil throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fighters circling - Soleil throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Targaryen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Targaryen lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Targaryen.
