Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Tate!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain throws a leg kick that misses.

Pain instigates a clinch.
Tate is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pain gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pain pulls guard effortlessly.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pain is on top in guard.

Pain pushes down on Tate's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Pain moves nicely into side control.
Tate is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Pain is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pain landing shots from mount.
Pain landing strikes, looking to finish!
Tate is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Pain controlling his opponent.

Pain is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tate to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tate shrugs it off.
Pain takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pain looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pain seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tate for as long as he can get away with.
Tate tries to reverse the position but Pain maintains control.

Pain wants to finish this one by submission but Tate is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pain.
Pain looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pain lands a heavy elbow.
Pain unloading with bombs!

It looks like William Tate has been cut.

Pain is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tate has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pain scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Pain is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Pain!
