The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond connects with the punch.
Redmond throws the left hand but Zhitkov avoids the punch easily.
Redmond is looking to clinch.
As Redmond backs off Zhitkov throws a huge counter combo but Redmond manages to avoid it all.
Zhitkov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Redmond could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Redmond throws a body shot but no joy.
Zhitkov wants to counter the offense by Redmond and move into the clinch position.

It looked like Redmond wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Zhitkov has closed the distance and engaged Redmond in a clinch.

Redmond throws out a loose jab but Zhitkov uses good head movement to avoid it.

Redmond throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Redmond throws a lazy right hand but Zhitkov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Zhitkov seems to have recovered his senses.
Redmond lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Zhitkov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Redmond eats them both and turns towards Zhitkov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Redmond sends Zhitkov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Redmond is motioning to the referee to let Zhitkov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Zhitkov has had enough of the clinch but Redmond keeps him there for the moment.

Redmond keeps control of Zhitkov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Zhitkov will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Redmond up against the cage.

Redmond's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Despite the aggression on Zhitkov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Redmond fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Redmond sizes up Zhitkov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Redmond is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zhitkov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redmond.

Redmond tries to close the distance and clinch but Zhitkov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
