Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Patterson (ranked 2716 p4p, 2413 weight class) and Johny Handicks (ranked 343 p4p, 304 weight class). Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by I'm So High. Nashville Pussy. Johny Handicks struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 172.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Patterson throws the left hand but Handicks avoids the punch easily.
Patterson throws a shot from downtown. Handicks moves away and avoids it.
Handicks moves forwards but Patterson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fighters circling - Patterson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Patterson misses with a wild combination.
Patterson slips a jab from Handicks.
Handicks misses with a lunging right hand
and Patterson counters with a nice uppercut.
Patterson throws a sloppy head kick
and Handicks counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Patterson thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Handicks lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Patterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
