Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Ristinen (ranked 2911 p4p, 3740 weight class) and Tyson Hargrave (ranked 352 p4p, 430 weight class). Hargrave is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mastodon - High Road. Tyson Hargrave has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Hargrave!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ristinen looks to land a combination but Hargrave avoids it well.
Hargrave moves forwards but Ristinen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hargrave looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hargrave looks to land a right hand but Ristinen moved out of range.
Hargrave scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A swing and a miss from Ristinen.
A big left from Hargrave misses.

Ristinen misses with a right hand
and Hargrave counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ristinen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hargrave.
A little feinted left hand from Ristinen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hargrave misses the shot to the body.
Hargrave scores with a hook to the body. Ristinen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Jesse Ristinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ristinen misses with a lunging right hand
and Hargrave counters with a stiff right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hargrave scores with a nice strike.
Ristinen defending well as Hargrave loads up on a big left hand.

Ristinen throws a body punch but Hargrave moves out of range.

Hargrave looks to land a left hand but Ristinen moved out of range nicely.
Ristinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Hargrave is just out of range.

and Hargrave counters with a stiff right hand.
We've been hearing reports that Ristinen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ristinen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hargrave is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ristinen pulls his head out easily.
Hargrave wants to get back to full guard.

Hargrave is staying active underneath Ristinen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ristinen in particular looking to stall.
Ristinen prevents Hargrave from improving his position.
Ristinen trying to mount his opponent but Hargrave defends it.
Ristinen wants to control but Hargrave is keeping him busy.
Hargrave regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hargrave lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hargrave postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ristinen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hargrave, into his guard.
Ristinen throws a big right hand that misses.
Ristinen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ristinen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ristinen stopping the sweep attempt from Hargrave.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ristinen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hargrave works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hargrave is looking to cinch up a triangle. Ristinen throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hargrave's body to avoid the submission. Hargrave has instead reached around Ristinen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hargrave arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tyson Hargrave!
In his post fight interview, Tyson Hargrave started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
