Nitro comes to the cage accompanied by Kingdom - Downstrait. Jimmy Nitro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Akira Maeda's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nitro but Nitro pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Maeda decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nitro's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nitro has gone for a leg lock! Maeda slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nitro's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maeda connects with a nice short shot to Nitro's temple.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nitro gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Maeda gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
